Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms, to the Community Guidelines, the Content Policy and the Science & Safety Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Using BestExperimentIdeas does not create a professional, teaching, engineering, medical or advisory relationship with us. We host and organise projects; we do not supervise your work.

• You need an account to publish projects, record builds, buy premium projects or take part in the community.
• Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Your display name, handle and public profile are visible to everyone.
• Accounts are intended for people aged 13 and over. Younger students should build under a supervising adult's account.
• One person, one account. Do not impersonate someone else or run accounts to manipulate ratings, follows or sales.

You keep ownership of the projects, posts, comments, reviews, images, datasets and links you submit. By submitting content you grant BestExperimentIdeas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, display and distribute that content on and in connection with the platform — including in previews, search results, recommendations and, where you have made a project premium, to deliver it to buyers.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, including images, text and data. YouTube links you embed remain subject to YouTube's own terms.

Remixes: when someone remixes a published project, the remix credits the original and links back to it. A remix does not transfer ownership of the original content.

Some features are AI-assisted and are described in the AI Disclosure. Using them is your choice — AI runs only when you trigger it.

• AI output can be wrong, incomplete, fabricated, unsafe or unsuitable for your setting. You must review, verify and edit it before you publish it or act on it.
• You are responsible for content you publish, whether you wrote it yourself or produced it with AI assistance.
• AI output is not scientific, educational, medical, engineering, legal, safety or other professional advice, and we do not warrant that an AI-assisted project is safe, valid, original, reproducible or suitable for any age group, classroom, laboratory or jurisdiction.
• Do not present AI-generated content as human-authored research, original data or your own experimental results when it is not.
• Do not enter confidential, proprietary or otherwise restricted information into AI features. Content you submit is transmitted to the AI provider we are currently configured to use and is handled under that provider's own terms.
• We may change AI providers, models, limits or availability, and may switch AI features off entirely, at any time.

The full list of what is and is not allowed is in the Community Guidelines. In short: keep it to science, engineering and educational projects, do not post unlawful, dangerous, harassing, deceptive or infringing material, and do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the platform.

Content that is plagiarised, infringes someone else's copyright or other rights, makes fraudulent or fabricated scientific claims, is spam or bulk promotion, is used to abuse the platform or other members, or supports illegal activity is prohibited and will be removed.

Safety matters here more than on a general content site. Projects that describe weapons, explosives, harmful biological or chemical work, or other activity whose primary purpose is to cause harm are not permitted and will be removed.

• A premium project is a one-time purchase that unlocks that project's full instructions and your own build workspace for it. It is not a transfer of ownership or a licence to resell.
• Prices are shown before checkout and charged through Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
• Premium project content is created by the creator, not by BestExperimentIdeas, unless a project is explicitly marked as curated by us.
• We do not guarantee that a project will work, reproduce a particular result, or be suitable for your setting.

Refunds and chargebacks are covered by the Refund Policy.

• The Creator Shop sells digital products: files, code, printables and bundles uploaded by creators. Unlike a premium project, which unlocks instructions inside the site, a digital product is delivered to you as downloadable files.
• Every digital product is reviewed by our team before it goes on sale. Review is a basic check of the listing and files, not a guarantee of quality, accuracy or fitness for a purpose.
• A purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the files yourself, in your own classroom or for your own project. Reselling, redistributing, re-uploading or publishing the files is not allowed.
• Files are delivered through private links that expire shortly after they are created. You can generate new links from your purchases page at any time while you own the product.
• There are limits on how many times each buyer can download a file, and every download is logged with your account, the file and the time. We use these logs to detect and investigate redistribution.
• Some files we generate for you may include your name, email, order reference and purchase date so a leaked copy can be traced.
• Digital purchases are delivered immediately, so refunds are handled case by case under the Refund Policy. We may revoke access to a product if we find the licence has been breached or the content infringes someone's rights.

If you sell premium projects, the Creator Terms and Payout Policy apply, including the platform fee, the payout hold period, minimum payout and refund adjustments. Payouts run through Stripe Connect and require completing Stripe's onboarding. You are responsible for your own taxes.

Publishing a project on BestExperimentIdeas is not safety approval, certification or endorsement by us. We are not a laboratory, a university, a research institution, a scientific certification body or a safety authority.

The Scientist subscription renews automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing page; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal.

We may review, restrict, unpublish or remove content that breaches these terms or our policies, and we may limit or close accounts for repeated or serious breaches, fraud, payment abuse or safety risk. Where practical we tell you why and give you a chance to fix it. You can close your account at any time.

The platform and its content are provided “as is”. We do not warrant that project information is accurate, complete, safe or fit for any purpose, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that any result can be reproduced. Read the Science & Safety Disclaimer before building anything.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BestExperimentIdeas is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the platform or from any project you build. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

This clause is jurisdiction-sensitive and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch.

We update the version and last-updated date at the top of this page when the terms change. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.

We may also change the service itself: adding, changing or removing features, changing which AI providers or models are used, and changing subscription prices, the platform fee or payout settings. Subscription price changes take effect from your next renewal after notice. Fee or payout changes apply to sales made after the change, not retroactively.
